Duties and Responsibilities
- The Scheduling & Testing Coordinator is responsible for administering initial and follow up TABE testing in compliance with Policy and Requirements Handbook (PRH) Appendix 301 to ensure students are placed in the appropriate level of reading and math instruction.
- Coordinate and disseminate TABE testing schedules to ensure students test within PRH time limits and follow up with students regarding test results.
- Meet with programs area department heads to discuss TABE testing needs and plan services.
- Preserve a standardized testing environment at all times to promote equity, data integrity and accurate results.
- Review documented accommodation plans prior to testing and ensure appropriate accommodations are provided for each student in collaboration with the Disability Coordinator.
- Ensure documentation indicating students have met PRH minimum required instructional hours has been received prior to administering follow-up TABE tests.
- Attend all PRH-required TABE Administrator training as required and maintain documentation of attendance.
- Function as test proctor for other areas as needed within the academic and career technical training areas.
- Maintain strict data integrity in compliance with PRH 3.1 and 3.2 and corporate procedures to ensure the fidelity of test results.
- Ensure computers used for testing are regularly swept for unauthorized downloads and cleaned in collaboration with the IT area.
- Create class schedules for all students in the Center Information System (CIS) in collaboration with counselors and management and update weekly or biweekly as needed.
- Maintain procedures for accepting schedule changes in consultation with center management and adjust students' schedules as necessary in advance of the effective week.
- Update CIS as students complete courses and ensure the CIS course enrollment histories accurately reflect when students enroll, complete, or drop classes.
- Work closely with the Center Standards Office to administer rewards and sanctions for attendance results as applicable to promote a positive culture and learning environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Post-secondary degree in work-related field and two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. High level of conflict-resolution skills. Effective relationship building skills with students and staff. Information technology proficiency including MS Office.
- A valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in related field, instructional experience, and previous Job Corps experience.
- Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
