The communications coordinator creates content for internal communications to include, but not limited to: company news and employee engagement articles, internal communication emails, photo editing and captions, digital display support, video planning and overall communication project support as assigned. In addition, the coordinator will create entry-level graphic design elements, perform event coordination duties, and administrative duties such as organizing time/action plans for the communications team, managing expense/invoice payments, updating the team project plan report, creating the agenda for team project meetings and supporting the managers of Corporate Communications.
Duties / Responsibilities§ Research, write and create content for employee communications vehicles, including company intranet, digital display system, executive presentations, memos, posters. With direction, draft executive talking points and memos. Monitor Corporate Communications email inboxes for story and article requests and follow-up with parties involved to validate information.
· Create graphic design pieces such as email headers, photo editing and banner images for company intranet as well as digital display systems. Develop and utilize the DG brand as directed while adhering to company style guide standards. Ensure timely production of approved artwork.
§ Process department invoices and expense payments, schedule meetings and other administrative duties as needed. Create, and integrate when appropriate, internal communication time/action plans. Support Corporate Communications managers as needed..
· Provide support for employee town halls and other events and activities.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

o Photoshop knowledge is required, InDesign, Illustrator and other Adobe Creative Suite program knowledge is a plus
o Education on best design practices for web and print, to include four-color press, is a plus
o Excellent communication skills to include asking open-ended/probing questions
Familiarity with and ability to learn database systems and services
Ability to multi-task
Work Experience / Education
- Bachelor's degree in Corporate Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English and Writing, Design Communications, Information Design, Graphic Design or related field is required.
2-4 years progressively more responsible work experience.
