Our Mission is to prepare all students for success.

Career & Tech Education in MSBSD is organized under 8 broad pathways of study, with 32 CTE programs categorized under their associated pathway, and over 200 courses to offer to students.

Position Description: Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers use a variety of instructional techniques to teach required and supplemental subject matter within district curriculum to help students prepare for seamless transition to continued post-secondary studies and advanced entry to careers.  They instruct students in various technical, career and college subjects to help students learn and develop skills related to a specific career or area of study, in pathways such as: Building, Business/IT, Health, Human Services, Natural Resources, Sports Medicine-Fitness, Tourism-Culinary, and Transportation.  They demonstrate tasks, techniques, and tools used in an occupation; as well as, integrate academics which are sometimes articulated for dual-enrollment in college courses. They may assign hands-on tasks, such as taking blood pressure & recording vital signs to 3D printer operations to helping students learn a specific skill. Teachers typically oversee these tasks in workshops and laboratories in the school.  CTE teachers prepare students for and administer certifications and skills credentialing, articulate courses and programs with post-secondary colleges and training partners, and establish relationships with local businesses and nonprofit organizations to provide work-based learning experience for students as well as gain advisory on programs validity.
