Aston Gardens at Pelican Pointe, a Discovery Senior Living Community is looking for an Assistant Dining Room Manager to help run our front of the house operations in a remodeled senior living community. We are a large community that has an upscale casual restaurant, full-service bar along with a ballroom.  If you have ever considered senior living, here are some reasons why you should! 

  • You will never have a late night at work. 
  • Your days are always predictable as a Saturday is just like a Tuesday that is just like a Friday. You will always know how many guests you will have, and weather, seasons or tourism will never affect your day. 
  • You will never handle cash or credit cards. We do not have a safe on property. 
  • Our bar is only open for 3 hours a day and all consumption is charged to a bill. 
  • You will have another assistant dining room manager along with lead servers to perform the day-to-day tasks. 
  • You will work along a seasoned Director of Culinary Services, Executive Chef and have two Sous Chefs that will support you with any needs that may arise.  
  • The only catering you will be part of is created in-house and for residents only.

What do we expect for this position: 

  • Train waitstaff on all operating procedures and menu education. 
  • Ensure floor charts and tables are set up properly. 
  • Greet and seat residents and guests. 
  • Process guest meal charges. 
  • Assist with the orientation and training of new dining room staff. 
  • Support a department culture that "always" puts the residents FIRST. 
  • Assist the Dining Room Manager with creating staff schedules and inputs schedules into the system. 
  • Supervises and supports dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization, and supplies placement.

Qualifications:  

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years' experience in fine dining.
  • Dining Room Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights & weekends.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
