**This announcement will be used to fill a part-time (31 hour weekly) Registered Nurse position at the Minnesota State Academies in Faribault, Minnesota. Primary work location will be on the MSAB campus.**

**Minnesota State Academies is a preK-12+ residential school for deaf/hard of hearing youth, blind/visually impaired youth, and deaf/blind youth. The school year typically begins at the end of August and ends the end of May. Extended School Year/Summer School typically is 2-3 weeks in the month of July. Staff training week is the 1-2 weeks before the school year begins.**

**Provides school health care services to students at the Minnesota State Academies as part of the Health Services Team including assessment, consultation, examination, referral, delegation, supervision and treatments to students so that health needs are met in accordance with state rules and regulations. Health Services at the Minnesota State Academies is a shared service across both MSAB and MSAD. Primary work location will be on the MSAD campus.**

**Minimum Qualifications**

**Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing and two years of RN work experience.**

**This position requires the use of knowledge pertaining to health care as required for licensure as a registered nurse.**

**This position requires knowledge of child development, provides for the ongoing health care of students and requires the ability to maintain health records.**

**Requires the ability to respond quickly to emergencies utilizing nursing skills and first aid training.**

**Preferred Qualifications**

**Past experience/background working with children in a school or healthcare setting.**

**ASL Skills sufficient to communicate with deaf/hard of hearing children.**

**Physical Requirements**

**Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance; incumbents are required to possess the physical ability to respond quickly to emergencies.**

**Additional Requirements**

**This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check.**
