Under the general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Unit Coordinator (UC) ensures that patients, their families and guests have an unparalleled experience at Mission Hospital while serving as the face of our Ministry and proactively setting the stage for the patient experience, by professionally and efficiently providing and/or coordinating patient/visitor/guest experience. The UC effectively communicates via a variety of modalities with patients, visitors, and facility staff and plays an integral role in communication across the continuum of care. The UC is responsible for serving as the primary resource person in identifying and facilitating problem resolution for our patients and guests while utilizing independent decision making to manage complex situations while ensuring positive outcomes. The UC participates in activities that result in high patient and family satisfaction and contributes to the reputation of the unit while serving as an advocate for all patients and visitors. The UC functions as a resource to members of the healthcare team and is familiar with multiple Mission Hospital resources. The UC creates an environment that is physician-friendly and supportive. The UC carries out all aspects of the job using good judgment and problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal skills and assumes responsibility for self-development within the role and participates in continuous improvement activities. The UC supports the healthcare team by anticipating and responding to patient and visitor needs and team requests.

**Required Qualification:**

3 years experience in delivering high level of service in guest relations.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

Associate's Degree.

Training in customer service, service recovery, conflict resolution.

Coursework/Training: Medical terminology course.

Experience working in healthcare delivery environment.

Discovery experience.
