GENERAL SUMMARY
Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital is seeking an excellent Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join their team of 3 OB/GYN physicians and 4 CNMs.
Provide in-office care to OB/GYN patients including pre and postnatal visits, minor procedures, GYN patient evaluation, and support coordination of care and practice growth initiatives. Participate in call with physician back-up.
The Cadillac Maternity Unit, which is a level 2 labor and delivery unit with a level 1 nursery, boasts a strong, collegial team focused on quality and safety. The entire team is 100% EFM certified and the nursing team has attended Spinning Babies workshops. Top designation for MIAIM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Gynecologic and family planning services
Preconception care, care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period
Provides initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
Conducts physical exams
Prescribes medications and contraceptive methods
Admits, manages, and discharges patients
Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests and orders the use of medical devices
Triages obstetrical patients
Manages labor, inductions, and deliveries in the hospital setting
Places and manages FSE, IUPC, Cooke catheters as indicated
Performs amniotomies
Performs episiotomies, repairs lacerations (1st, 2nd, 3rd degree)
Acts as a first assist for cesarean deliveries
Performs telemedicine visits as appropriate
Acts as a patient advocate, crossing multidisciplinary lines to meet patient needs. Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a consultant to other member of the health care team
Documents in the medical record and dictates information as appropriate
Provides input into the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of service/program
Initiates process improvement studies to measure the outcomes of care. Makes recommendations to improve the quality of patient care utilizing the scientific method and evidence-based practice guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master's degree in nursing or health related field
Certification, Licensure, Registration:
Successful completion of a Certified Midwifery Program.
Must be licensed in the State of Michigan as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and as a registered nurse.
Work Experience:
3 years of relevant clinical experience required. This may include labor and delivery RN bedside roles and/or as a CNM.
Previous experience in a collaborative practice role is required
Previous experience as a CNM preferred.
Successful completion of a competency-based orientation to the role
