Physician – Hematologist/Oncologist

Charles George VA Medical Center - Asheville, North Carolina.

Current Staffing - 2NPs, 3 Providers (replacing third) Full-time
-10-15 patients daily
-On call requirements, but only when needed. Rotating 1 in 3. Coming on site is rare when on call.

Highlights of this position include:

  • Potential starting base salary: $320,000 - $350,000
  • Daily schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30pm

5. Malpractice Insurance VA physicians are covered under the Federal Tort Claims Act - 28 U.S.C. § 1346 and 28 U.S.C § 2671. Medical personnel have statutory immunity from "individual" malpractice liability while acting within the scope of employment; a VA physician cannot be sued in civil court for a malpractice (tort) claim.
