This role requires leadership & technical database administration experience to manage a group of high-performance individuals, optimize current offerings for maintaining software concurrency/observability/high availability and compliance and managing enterprise strategy expectation of delivering robust solutions in a cost efficient and timely manner. *Responsibilities:* * Works closely with security, application development, architecture, and infrastructure teams to deliver solutions * Develops strategy/roadmap for the team for 18 months and executes accordingly with measurable outcome * Has planning and analysis skills to guide the team during major incidents, disaster and during complex circumstances * Understands security implementation, Database Audit Control and Enterprise change management process * Design and maintain monitoring techniques & single control plane to improve performance, availability * Lends support to various business and technology teams as necessary during design, development and delivery to ensure solid, scalable, robust solutions * Lead the team with a cloud-first approach, always explore the opportunity to move from manual task to automated approach * Holds the team accountable for the availability and integrity of development, user acceptance testing, and production environments * Should be able to guide the team for SQL Server performance management and tuning * Should be able guide the team for documenting standard operating procedures * Should be able to manage the team i.e. encourage & inspire, manage backlog of task, call rotation, assignments, provide timely feedback to employee and completing employee appraisals * Investigate and resolve reported application issues, escalating issues as necessary to the application owners & team management * Enable overall PE Database organization to grow with new ideas and challenges the status quo * Has knowledge of product management & agile frameworks * Able to communicate at all levels within the enterprise * Should be able multi-task and keep up with changing priorities * Flexible to work off-hours, as required   *Required Qualifications:* * 5+ years of experience in database engineering * 3+ years of experience in managing/Leading a team * 5+ years of experience with SQL Server * One or more years of experience with scripting, preferably PowerShell or Python * One or more years of experience with replication and disaster recovery solutions, such as mirroring, replication, and log shipping * One or more years of experience supporting highly-available and disaster recovery (HA/DR) database technologies * One or more years of experience with the Design and Monitoring of relational databases to optimize performance, resource use, backup/recovery, and physical implementation * One or more years' experience with physical and VMWare SQL configuration from an infrastructure perspective * One or more year of experience with Azure Cloud fundamentals, SQL Server PaaS offerings, VM based setup, and SQL Server Availability Groups across multiple data centers * One or more years' experience with DevOps tooling *Preferred Qualifications:* * Fundamental cloud certifications and/or courses completed *Education* * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience) *Pay Range* The typical pay range for this role is: $124,372.50 - $247,200.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.    In addition to your compensation, enjoy the rewards of an organization that puts our heart into caring for our colleagues and our communities.  The Company offers a full range of medical, dental, and vision benefits.  Eligible employees may enroll in the Company's 401(k) retirement savings plan, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan is also available for eligible employees.  The Company provides a fully-paid term life insurance plan to eligible employees, and short-term and long term disability benefits.
