The role of Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for implementing new systems/technologies and managing current systems/technologies throughout our organization. The individual in this role will join a team of skilled infrastructure professionals that supports our growing enterprise. This role will work on a wide range of technologies from cutting edge to legacy platforms, and as such need to be flexible and quick learners. They will also be critical in bringing newly acquired facilities onto our standard technology platforms.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage IT infrastructure including but not limited to:
- Windows (and some Linux) servers (physical, virtual, and cloud-based)
- Active Directory and Group Policy management
- Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange Online, Teams, etc.)
- Microsoft Azure & Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Endpoint protection, MFA, cyber-security
- Networking (routers, switches, subnets, etc.)
- Phone systems and overhead paging
- Work with internal and external resources as required to support IT infrastructure 24x7x365.
- Identify potential problem areas and develop solutions.
- Assist with planning and implementation of new IT systems and infrastructure which are secure, standard, and highly available.
- Develop and implement systems to automate IT tasks, enhance security, and prevent service interruptions.
- Participate in projects to implement or make significant changes to systems or technologies.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for all IT infrastructure and provide training to other IT department members as needed.
- Some domestic travel (~20%) will be required to other company facilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- 5+ years of full-time experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Admin, Network Admin, or equivalent
- Experience working in a multi-site organization is required.
- Bachelor's degree or multiple technical certifications such as MCSA, CCNA, etc.
- Background managing IT infrastructure including servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, network drives, phone systems, Wi-Fi, network, MFA/2FA, SAN/NAS, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and determination.
- Experience managing IT infrastructure projects and/or implementing new systems/technologies.
- Well-rounded IT infrastructure experience including servers, networks, cloud infrastructure, etc.
- Thorough understanding of enterprise IT best practices for security, standardization, availability, and support.
- A desire to learn and continually improve knowledge of new technologies and cyber-security landscape.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects/items simultaneously.
