Lead AWS Data Engineer


Location and Travel: Pleasanton, California  - Remote Available, Flexible After COVID)

Job Requirements:


  • Educate clients on Cloud technologies and influence direction of the solution
  • Work with the SMEs to implement data strategies and build data flows
  • Manage data related requests, analyze issues and provide efficient resolution. Design all program specifications and perform required tests.
  • Prepare codes for all modules according to required specification.
  • Monitor all production issues and inquiries and provide efficient resolution.
  • Evaluate all functional requirements, map documents, and troubleshoot all development processes.
  • Document all technical specifications and associates' project deliverables.
  • Design all test cases to provide support to all systems and perform unit tests.


Job Qualifications:


  • 10+ years of success in consultative/complex deployment project, architecture, design, implementation and/or support of data and analytics solutions.
  • Develop and maintain current and planned state architectural blueprints that are aligned with the Information Management strategy.
  • Create solution patterns and standards for relevant data management capabilities and work with delivery teams to ensure successful implementation and refinement.
  • Review existing ETL architecture and frameworks to improve performance, manage costs and drive efficiencies.
  • Research new innovations in the market and AWS services to improve our platforms. Perform technology and product assessments to recommend changes to our target architecture and roadmap.
  • Ability to evaluate and plan migrations to Amazon Redshift.
  • Work in close partnership with Delivery Manager, manage technical risks, stakeholders and architectural / technical milestones.
  • Overall IT Exp of 10 to 11 plus years with relevant 8 yrs of exp.
  • 4 to 5 yrs exp delivering DWH projects with at least one RedShift design end to end implementation with project length more than a year.
  • Expertise RedShift design review processes n resolved technical problem.
  • Experience in query tuning and optimization.
  • Best Practices on RedShift Data Modelling and choosing sort keys, dist keys performance tuning stored procedures and housekeeping activities.
  • Compression level considerations and know-how data security in redshift.
  • Complete familiarity with Redshift underlying architecture in terms of Leader Nodes Compute Nodes slices and how data is distributed how a request for a table data is resolved.
  • Strong, current hands-on experience delivering data solutions in AWS.Â
  • Proven experience in development and/or DBA experience in Relational Database Management Systems. (RDBMS) including 5+ years of hands-on experience in implementation and performance tuning MPP databases (Redshift, Teradata).
  • 8+ years' experience as a data warehouse architect and have delivered solutions for data movement, data obfuscation (data masking), record retention (Deletion and Archival), data infrastructure/security, operational data stores (ODS), enterprise data warehouses, data lakes and reporting/analytics.
  • Should have a good understanding of the AWS Stack and the cloud ecosystem.
  • Excellent Analytical skills, Attitude to learn n pick up things, good presentation and Communication skills.
  • Ability to drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent Analytical skills, Attitude to learn n pick up things, good presentation and Communication skills.
  • Good understanding of AWS Data services like S3, Aurora, Athena, Glue, EMR, DMS and can explain their varied use cases.
  • Strong understanding of Data Modeling and defining conceptual logical and physical data models
  • Experience in managing various client relationships to get consensus on solutions
