Description

The Edmonton Police Service requires an efficient and motivated individual to provide administrative support to the members of the Policy Management Unit. Responsibilities will include:

  • This position is responsible for the electronic filing of documents related to the development of policy, as well as maintaining EPS' historical policy folders. 
  • Supporting the unit's policy analysts by reviewing final policy document drafts for formatting, style, and consistency before final review of the document happens at the Manager level.
  • Assisting with the publication of policy documents, Service Directives, and Legal Studies Manual as required.
  • Assisting with various administrative (scanning of documents, ordering of supplies etc) tasks to support the work and function of the unit.
     
Qualifications

  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing and training in microcomputer applications or completion of an approved certificate program. A minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible supervisory and diversified word and/or information processing experience. 
  • Experience within a police environment would be an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience reviewing and editing documents for clarity and format.
  • Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Proficient with learning new computer applications and programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and offer a high degree of customer service.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team-orientated and demanding work environment.

Hours of Work:  33.75 hours per week, 0700 to 1500 hours, Monday - Friday

Salary Range:  21M, Salary Grade: 012, $30.31 - $38.01 (Hourly), $2,046.30 - $2,565.80 (Bi-Weekly), $53,407.45 - $66,967.64 (Annually)
 The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
