What will you do?
- Review and render decisions on minor development permits such as single detached and semi detached house development permit applications, as well as home improvement permits and portable signs
- Review and research zoning issues related to business licenses
- Review applications in consideration of the Zoning Bylaw, Municipal Government Act, Neighbourhood Area Structure Plans, Area Structure Plans and Area Redevelopment Plans
- Render decisions regarding developments that are discretionary and may require limited variance
- Provide assistance periodically to development planners by performing technical reviews of development permit applications
- Provide customers with knowledgeable and timely response to their inquiries involving zoning, major and minor development questions and application procedures for development permits
- Deal with complaints related to development, providing instructions regarding other City services and forwarding customers as required to the appropriate departments
- Examine development approvals, evaluate current zoning, and ensure compliance with applicable acts and regulations
- Review and issue curb crossing permits
- Review and process requests for compliance certificates in consultation with the Zoning Bylaw
- Perform other related duties as required
