Description

The Monitoring & Analysis team provides services to support the City's requirements for data collection, management and visualization. This team is under the Business Intelligence and Analytics section of the Service Innovation and Performance branch. In the Monitoring Field Worker position, you have an exciting opportunity to support the team goals by assisting with acquiring transportation data for policy development, performance measurement, traffic and transit planning and road safety improvements. • Use power tools and various other tools to install and remove traffic data collection equipment on roadways and at intersections while working on a ladder and according to the site characteristics of each location and ensuring optimal safety
• Set up safe work zones by correctly placing pylon cones and supporting team members to ensure a safe work site
• Program, download and upload data from the portable traffic data collection equipment data on a daily schedule
• Prepare, organize and record information in the field sheets for data collection and entering the information on Google Sheets and other electronic formats
• Implement daily field data collection plans
• Drive city owned vehicles in a safe manner and in accordance with the City's driving policy
• Identify equipment and supplies needed to meet data collection schedules
• Review field work for completeness, accuracy and adherence to data collection standards
• Ensure that all work is performed safely and in accordance with the Branch's Enviso - Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and the Occupational Health and Safety Program
• Other related duties as required
