RISK METRICS REPORTING SENIOR ANALYST

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Business Continuity Risk Management (BCRM) program is in the second line of defense and is accountable for CNB's BCRM strategy and framework, enabling CNB to identify, measure, monitor, and mitigate the risks associated with business continuity arising from CNB's business processes, people, systems or external events. BCRM works across CNB's businesses and functions, providing independent oversight and challenge to ensure effective implementation of BCM practices in compliance with regulatory and policy requirements. BCRM is also accountable to provide insight on CNB's overall business continuity risk profile. The Risk Metrics & Reporting Senior Analyst will be responsible for developing the strategy, roadmap, and solutions for data, analytics, and associated automation for the BCRM organization. Responsibilities are multi-faceted and will include such goals as defining our data reporting and analytics strategy with respect to data sourcing, tooling, training, and governance as well as creating and implementing business continuity risk metrics. The Risk Metrics & Reporting Senior Analyst will collaborate with colleagues to identify and design new key-risk-indicators (KRIs), enhancements to existing KRIs, and working with partners across the enterprise to enhance dashboards, risk appetite measures, reporting, etc. Candidate should be familiar with data sourcing strategies, data transformation and normalization, data analytics approaches as well as visual data story telling. The role will report to the head of BCRM in Operational Risk Management.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Define BCRM's strategy for data analytics and reporting by developing the strategy, roadmap, and solutions for data, analytics, and associated automation.
  • Review metrics to include quantifiable measures with targets to help with decision making, risk and business monitoring.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and annual dashboard and reporting related to business continuity risk metrics on behalf of management.
  • Develop Business Continuity Risk reporting methodologies and processes to ensure that issues, risks and gaps are identified, reported, and addressed to enable effective overall profiling of business continuity risks.
  • Develop and implement key risk indicators, key performance/control indicators to assess and enable business continuity risk profile, and control effectiveness through collaboration with Operational Risk Shared Services (ORSS) and other 1LOD and 2LOD partner-teams.
  • Conducting analytics to identify and assess trends and areas in CNB's management of business continuity risk that require attention.
  • Enabling data analytics and automation in support of business continuity risk thematic reviews being led by the BC Risk Managers.
  • Effectively monitor the tracking of issues, gaps, and exceptions and mitigation plans as they relate to business continuity risks to ensure timely resolution.
  • Prepare business continuity portfolio and risk aggregation reporting and performance to senior executives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate escalation of issues and observations of non-compliance or risks outside of acceptable thresholds.
  • Drive the ongoing evolution of the reporting framework to maintain an effective Business Continuity Risk Profile to support oversight and challenge of Business Continuity Risk and to meet business and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Work with senior management and colleagues to understand information and data needs, utilizing advanced knowledge of the various Governance & Risk Control (GRC) reporting tools and data sources to develop reporting solutions.
  • Build and maintain a roadmap for ongoing enhancements to enable the identification and management of issues, risks, and gaps, and effect change to meet the needs of BCRM oversight, challenge, control assurance and reporting accountabilities.
  • Work with Analytics and Risk Intelligence teams to ensure timelines and key deliverables meet the roadmap.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years as a Metrics, Reporting or Business Analyst.
  • Minimum 5 years' years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tool
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Risk Management, and/or in the financial services industry.


Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience with writing database queries (i.e. SQL, MySQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL)
  • Experience in data management, analysis and in dashboard reporting tools including in Tableau, Appian, Excel and/or SQL
  • Proficient at manipulating large datasets, and the MS office suite of products
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop and produce reporting for senior management
  • Advanced quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong understanding of the business continuity risk governance framework and practices
  • Effective story-telling skills – can translate data and information into insights and advice
  • Currently hold or quickly obtain industry recognized certification within the business continuity industry
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; Must be articulate and persuasive
  • Ability to drive change to business practices by working effectively. Self-starting with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Ability to analyze a process and recommend ways to improve quality, controls, and efficiency

COMPENSATION
Starting base salary: $92,114 - $156,880 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
