MANAGER - BUSINESS BANKING REGIONAL WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? Responsibility for developing and executing strategies to promote a dynamic sales culture, revenue growth, and optimization of overall profitability of business banking within their assigned geography. The Regional Manager may work directly with Business Banking Relationship Managers (BBRM's) in their assigned region, as well as possibly Business Banking Managers and/or Team Leaders, to achieve positive results. Help plan and direct the activities of their team towards the attainment of regional goals, including sales, client service, proper credit quality and risk management. Developing and providing strategic direction, overseeing key initiatives, and implementing strategies within the group/team you support. Manages the sales process including new client acquisition, referrals, cross sell, and retention efforts. Participates in joint calling activity with BBRM's and when appropriate with other sales colleagues. Works closely with leadership within the Personal & Business Banking Division, commercial banking, preferred banking, private banking, the branch network, and other functional areas. Overall responsibility for the hiring and retention of BBRMs and leadership for their assigned region. Provides coaching as necessary and identifies and develops BBRM talent pipeline for the region.Supports other CNB departments and colleagues as needed. Provides project management support to the Head of Business Banking as needed. Promotes the bank's business banking brand awareness within designated regional market. Participates in internal and external community activities as a representative of CNB, promoting and attracting new colleagues and clients for the bank. WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Drive Regional profitability, revenue growth, managing expenses, enhancing margins/profitability, and ensuring strong credit quality to enable business banking to continue to grow and thrive.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and strong financial performance for Business Banking Region.
- Works with each BBRM and/or Leaders in preparing their calling and relationship plan which would include identification of business opportunities from both existing clients and prospects. Sets individual objectives including loan, deposit, and fee income growth, and portfolio contribution, etc. Provides on-going coaching, counseling, and performance reviews.
- Makes joint calls with BBRM's on more complex relationships or transactions and to help further develop the BBRM's skill set. Reviews structure options with the BBRM's to maximize opportunities. May recommend bringing in product specialists, as necessary, to help problem solve or structure transactions.
- Monitors and analyzes region's business banking results and account activities. Reviews portfolio and client profitability. Makes recommendations regarding accounts to be further developed or exited. Prepares reports for management.
- Interfaces with other Bank departments including the branches within their assigned area as necessary. Defines responsibilities and coordinates objectives for all product areas in a relationship or transaction. Resolves all client needs and any internal issues.
- Maintains awareness of competitive products, practices, rates and changes in market conditions.
- Partner with the Credit, Risk Management, and CRA team(s) to achieve balanced growth targets and optimized credit quality and profitability.
- Monitors region's business banking portfolio for quality, risk and adherence to policy. Works with the appropriate staff departments to resolve issues.
- Operate within a robust control environment, ensuring that all activities and operations are carried out in full compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies and procedures.
- Complete knowledge of bank policies and procedures
- Complies fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending, Code of Conduct, etc.)
- Represents the Bank by actively participating in outside civic and community affairs, business and industry-related organizations, and other professional activities as appropriate.
- Supports Head of Business Banking on projects designed to further enhance the division's performance in this segment.
- Serve as a talent magnet to continue building the team and establish an environment in which all colleagues excel in producing revenue and delivering the highest quality products and service.
- Conduct all business matters with the highest standards of integrity.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 12 years of banking experience required.
- Minimum of 10 years of commercial lending/relationship manager experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial relationship managers required.
- Minimum of 5 years of credit experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in specific geographic market(s) is preferred.
- Demonstrated strong leadership overseeing a region in the Financial Industry, management, sales, and marketing capabilities.
- Excellent managerial and organizational skills.
- Good understanding of all products and services applicable to target client segment.
- Good understanding of all the bank's products and service and the overall sales process with a focus on client segmentation and performance measurement
- Excellent knowledge of commercial credit and CRA policies and procedures, and bank operations policies and procedures.
- Strong credit analysis and accounting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop and retain strong sales colleagues and effectively manage results through a team of colleagues.
- Has the ability to work autonomously in making sound business decisions and exercises appropriate level of authority commensurate with experience and responsibility.
- Ability to build positive relationships both within the Personal & Business Banking Division and throughout the bank and capable of establishing professional expertise through integrity, dedication, and strategic counsel.
- Must be capable of inspiring confidence and respect in staff and motivate colleagues to achieve individual, division and company goals.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; must be able to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $127,626 - $237,014 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
