Our HealthONE Behavioral Health & Wellness location in Ken Caryl is a Behavioral Health community access point located side by side within our CareNow urgent care facility. This integrated service site will provide both medical and mental health services, treating the whole person in one location. We will offer both adult and adolescent Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) providing evidenced-based treatment for individuals along their wellness journey. With 3 group therapy rooms, we have the capacity to continue to grow with community needs.

Position Summary: This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Ken Caryl CareNow of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Social Worker III is responsible for providing clinical support for patients in our intensive outpatient program (IOP), including completing initial assessments and treatment plans, participating in treatment team meetings to discuss patients' progress and assist with discharge planning needs. Needs to be familiar/comfortable with group therapy, as well as individual and family meetings. Has a strong foundation of counseling skills and clinical knowledge to assist in the assessment of patient's behavioral health needs. Responsible and accountable for coordination of services through an interdisciplinary approach which provides a comprehensive approach to treatment. Through concurrent case management, patients will be assessed to determine appropriateness of admission and continued treatment. Discharge planning will begin at the time of admission and reassessed throughout the course of treatment.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Licensed mental health clinician (LCSW or LPC) in the state of Colorado required.
- Education: Master Degree from an accredited university in Counseling, Social Work, MFT, Psychology, etc., required.
- Experience: 3-5 years recent clinical experience in counseling in an acute care setting. 5-7 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred. Experience with working with a variety of issues and population, including adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Experience with working with substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, etc.
- Special Qualifications: Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and able to work with highly diverse population. Must be knowledgeable of State and Joint Commission standards. Must have ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work in high stress environment. Must be able to apply critical thinking and formulate diagnostic impressions based upon review of systems, history, symptoms and current presentation. Must be able to provide crisis intervention and other duties as assigned by the department director or designee.
Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Department Director or designee. Employee will be expected to perform all job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
