For this role, you will be part of a team of 5-10 developers working on the development of a new frontend application for BMC's APM product. Your responsibilities will include implementing new features, fixing bugs, and reviewing code from other team members. The team follows daily scrums and works in 2-week sprint cycles. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, takes ownership of tasks, and is comfortable seeking guidance when needed.
To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
- 5-8+ years working with JavaScript frameworks, preferably React or Angular and similar experience with TypeScript
- Strong experience in Test Driven Development and experience using unit testing with tools like Jest, Karma, or Mocha
- Skilled in using build tools such as Webpack, Gulp, or Grunt
- Expertise in HTML/CSS, emphasizing cross-browser compatibility and performance optimization
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex details
- Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL, MySQL, Postgres, etc)
- Experience working with Microservices, specifically ones designed as a REST interface that returns JavaScript
- Experience working with cloud technologies: Oracle, AWS, or GCP
- Experience working in containerized environments like Kubernetes
Preferred:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience working with Scala or Java
- Experience working with OpenTelemetry
- Experience in building custom visualizations with Grafana
- Experience working with existing APM solutions like Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, or similar
- Other k8s management tools such as Helm, Kubectl, Kustomize
