The Sales Order Specialist (SOS) will work as part of the Order Services team to support the sales organization in preparing and validating license and support deals. The SOS is responsible for helping sales manage the opportunity to invoice process and for submitting a valid order to the Order Service Coordinator team for processing.  The SOS is also expected to serve as a single point of contact for sales helping sales engage with the BMC ecosystem to facilitate the closing of deals. 

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC Software's and your own success:
• Provide guidance and support to sales on quote preparation related to Commercial, Legal and RevRec policies, order processing and customer order issues • Provide Legal Level 1 support and generate contractual agreements for all license lines of business. • Order Processing – Generate, Review, Validate, verify all orders with focus on accuracy, and Activate for order booking. • Proactively engage with sales teams and wider Ecosystem to ensure orders are compliant in accordance with Corporate, SOX, Revenue Recognition and/or SSP policies and procedures • Ensure all approvals are in place prior to paperwork being released to sales.  • Ensure all orders are submitted on a timely basis according to established order submission deadlines • Develop & maintain a detailed working knowledge of Revenue Recognition policies concerning the licensing of software & support, SOX controls applicable to the Quote to Invoice process. • Provide support and assist in the resolution & clarification of order information, invoices, collections and passwords. • Expected to be the point of contact and trusted advisor.   To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience: 
• High School Diploma; 1 to 4 years work experience in a similar role;  Bachelor's Degree Preferred • Knowledge and experience in back-office application used by Order Services Organization, with good understanding of administrative processes. • Knowledge and experience with revenue recognition requirements. • Working knowledge of Zuora Billing, SFDC including Zuora CPQ and CLM, and MS Office Suite.   • Must possess strong attention to detail, accuracy and completeness with regard to all processes.  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  • Able to manage the order process with sales and the Ecosystem with respect to communication, expectations, validation and completion of compliant orders.  • Must have the ability to work remotely and use escalation process when required. • Excellent written and communication skills required.   • Ability to identify and resolve issues, using sound judgement in a timely manner.  • Demonstrates competence in own area and in general business principles; may still be acquiring higher level skill • Works on practical tasks to established procedures • Typically works with moderate guidance, accountable for individual results and impact on work group • Deepening knowledge/skill in one skill area or broadening ability over a variety of skills • Applies knowledge/skills to a variety of standard day to day activities; knows when to refer to others; handles a variety of tasks within own area • Interprets customer needs and works to meet those needs, offering assistance and advice on standard practical issues; may call on others for help in situations outside own area of knowledge  • Understands the key business practices relating to own area; uses this knowledge to focus and improve own work  • Works to control costs related to own work • Identifies the problem and all relevant issues in straightforward situations; generates possible solutions, assesses each using standard procedures and makes a sound decision  • Prioritizes and organizes own work to deliver to agreed deadlines • Probes and listens carefully, presents information clearly and in appropriate style, makes technical information clear, persuades others in straightforward situations • Contributes actively in team activities, sharing experience and ideas  • Builds useful working relationships outside own area
