Join us as a Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting!
As the Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting you will be primarily responsible for performing activities related to external financial reporting and technical accounting research and documentation. This position will supervise the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst as well as liaise with various groups within the company including treasury, tax, regional accounting teams, global shared services functions, human resources, and legal.
Here is how, through this exciting role, you will contribute to BMC's and your own success:
- Responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, including the review of quarterly and annual investor/lender financial reporting packages and presentations as well as quarterly and annual financial statements, complying with SEC rules and regulations, working closely with other finance functions and assisting external auditors.
- Responsible for certain corporate accounting functions including accounting for certain compensation-related areas, contingencies, facility leases, etc., including analysis and documentation of complex transactions in such areas.
- Assist with technical research, evaluation and documentation for significant transactions (e.g., equity and debt offerings, M&A, new ventures, complex lease contracts, non-standard purchase contracts, etc.) and ad hoc questions.
- Assist with M&A accounting initiatives including diligence, purchase accounting (including opening balance sheet allocation and intangible asset valuation efforts) and integration from a technical standpoint.
- Evaluate new accounting literature, proposed and final, and lead the implementation of new pronouncements.
- Ensure complete compliance with internal control requirements and improving controls where necessary, as well as evaluating processes for continuous improvements and influencing change where needed.
- Evaluate and formulate conclusions/documentation on other critical technical accounting topics, including annual goodwill impairment testing, long-lived asset impairment analysis, complex lease transactions, discontinued operations and held-for-sale accounting, as well as other areas commensurate within a complex global organization.
To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
- You hold Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA, and 5+ years of work experience with demonstrated progression, including proficiency in technical accounting areas.
- You have solid experience in SEC financial reporting, accounting and financial controls within a publicly traded corporate financial environment or Big 4 public accounting firm at a management level.
- Strong GAAP and technical research skills, commensurate with a complex global company environment.
- You will have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as the position requires: i) regular partnering with senior management personnel across multiple corporate functions, ii) the ability to concisely document technical positions in the form of critical policy and other memoranda and iii) discussing and defending technical positions, including with external auditors.
- You will have strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to work within a fast-paced environment, under pressure and within strict deadlines.

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $114,525 - $190,875
