Position Summary  

The Testing Coordinator supports the Disability Resource Center (DRC) by providing the function of proctoring and coordinating all testing within the DRC testing center and remotely. This position provides a direct accommodation service and has continual direct student contact and support as well as regular communication with faculty and the DRC team.

The Disability Resource Center reports to the Dean of Student Support in the Student Affairs division. The program serves as a reference for Bellevue College faculty and staff, offering information and training in disability, disability justice related issues, and promoting inclusion in academics, the workplace, and in the community.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule  

Position Salary Range: $42,540/year - $56,664/year

The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Individuals newly hired to Classified position are placed in a salary range based on the WPEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

We offer comprehensive compensation package with salary and benefits as the main components. Competitive salary is within the Range stated above, and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Generous benefits package is offered through Washington State plans that includes multiple medical, dental, life and disability coverage choices for employees and dependents; choices of retirement and deferred compensation plans; paid holidays, sick, and vacation plans; transit program, reduced tuition, employee discounts and memberships, etc.

The employee is scheduled to work 40 hours per workweek. This is a Classified, overtime eligible position and represented by the Washington Public Employee Association of Higher Education (WPEA-HE).

About the Department  

The Disability Resource Center provides disability accommodations to disabled students according to federal and state law. This ensures that disabled students have equal access to all of the services and benefits of education at Bellevue College. The Disability Resource Center reports to the Dean of Student Support in the Student Affairs division.

The program serves as a reference for Bellevue College faculty and staff, offering information and training in disability, disability justice related issues, and promoting inclusion in academics, the workplace, and in the community.

Essential Functions  

Test Proctoring

  • Set up exams upon student arrival at the DRC testing center.
  • Use MyDRC database testing features to confirm faculty test instructions, ensure accommodations are met, and schedule exams.
  • Proctor exams utilizing camera software, ensure test integrity, report academic dishonesty.
  • Assist students with exam questions and needs.
  • Update Testing computers, check for ITS needs.
  • Collect completed exams, return exams per specific faculty instructions.

Test Preparation and Coordination

  • Monitor testing schedule in MyDRC database and check for next day's exams.
  • Print, organize and package exams for the following day.
  • In the first hour of work check exam schedule and for exams having arrived overnight- prepare day of exams.
  • Ensure exams are assigned to appropriate proctor and location.
  • Coordinate remote exam scheduling with remote proctors.

Finals Week Preparation and Coordination

  • Coordinate finals schedules in MyDRC with the master finals schedule and student needs.
  • Reserve rooms for each quarter's finals week.
  • Assign staff to proctor finals overflow rooms with coordination with supervisors.
  • Communicate schedule and room changes and assignments to students.
  • Communicate with faculty regarding needed scheduling adjustments to ensure schedule meets faculty requirements.
  • Coordinate remote finals with remote proctors and in coordination with supervisors.

Remote Test Proctoring

  • Set up exams upon student arrival to Zoom room.
  • Use MyDRC database testing features to confirm faculty test instructions, ensure accommodations are met, and schedule exams.
  • Proctor exams utilizing zoom software, ensure test integrity, report academic dishonesty.
  • Return exams to faculty using remote exam return process.

Other

  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications  
  • High school diploma. Any combination of relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Minimum Two (2) years of experience in an office or retail setting.
  • Minimum Two (2) years of professional experience with software programs Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse colleagues and/or students in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • Effective ability to prioritize competing tasks.
  • Effective reading and writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications  
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum One (1) year experience working with disabled students and/or customers/clients.
