Position Summary
The overall focus of this position is to support the Bellevue College in the High School program (CHS), a concurrent enrollment program for high school students. The position is expected to become well acquainted with the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) program standards. It requires the ability to work following NACEP and college rules, policies and regulations. The Program Specialist works under the general supervision of the Director of College in the High School and collaborates extensively with the other Program Specialist in the department in carrying out the work of the program. The position communicates with program participants, parents, staff, faculty, and the public regarding program content, policies, and procedures; assists with coordinating meetings and events; maintains accurate records and files; and performs other duties as assigned.
Pay, Benefits & Work SchedulePosition Salary Range: $45,900/year - $ 61,296/year
The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Individuals newly hired to Classified position are placed in a salary range based on the WPEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The employee is scheduled to work 40 hours per workweek. This is a Classified, overtime eligible position and represented by the Washington Public Employee Association of Higher Education (WPEA-HE).

About the DepartmentThe Center for High School Programs is a self-funded program that supports the mission of Bellevue College by providing high quality, needs-based and accessible services, which support student access to and completion of educational opportunities that advance pluralism, inclusion, and global awareness. The department is comprised of trained and experienced professionals who work directly with Bellevue College students to meet educational and career goals.¿ Academic Advising provides complex comprehensive and timely service and information for students, parents, high schools, school districts, faculty, and other staff related to and in support of transfer and professional/technical academic programs.
Essential FunctionsProgram Information Communication
- Understand and interpret National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) standards and communicate regularly with CHS instructors and administrators, Faculty Coordinators, parents, students, and others in a professional and timely manner. Communications include admissions and enrollment reminders, orientation and professional development dates, and other notable dates, such as the counselor breakfast, discovery days, and high school visits.
- Provide accurate information and advice to program participants, students, staff, faculty, and the public on program policies, rules, and regulations.
- Assist with event planning and presenting for Program Orientation, Professional Development or other information sessions as needed by districts and/or high schools.
- Maintain CHS Website¿periodically checking links to make sure they work. Updating any documentation like handbooks, admission, and enrollment dates. Note: the website is up for the redesign process this year, and the program specialist will assist with that project as needed.
- Disseminate information to students and teachers using Target-X or mail merge as necessary.
- Assist with online office hours during the evening once a week during heavy enrollment times.
Administrative Program Support
- Monitor/collect required NACEP evidence such as application documentation, syllabi, assessments, student placement grids on time, follow up with stakeholders as necessary, and provide regular updates to the director on missing data or making requests of teachers for missing data.
- Maintain comprehensive annual master tracking systems for enrollments, teacher orientations/Professional Development, and site visits as required by NACEP.
- Assist with the development of the annual timeline and monitor important dates and deadlines during the academic year.
- Collect, review, and file program evidence to ensure it meets standards.
- Maintain College in the High School (CHS) SharePoint folders and collaborate with Director on organization of the data.
Perform Other Duties as assigned
- Meeting attendance¿High School Programs and Enrollment Services and High School Program meetings.
- Associate's degree in a related field. Any combination of relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Two (2) or more years full-time experience, or equivalent part-time experience, working in program coordination, student services or administrative support in a higher education setting or other program coordination or administrative support positions.
- One (1) year demonstrated experience working in a customer service setting with the public both on the phone and in-person.
- Ability to communicate clearly, accurately in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse colleagues and/or students in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Proficient is MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective verbal, listening, writing, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in project management.
- Experience in higher education.
