Position Summary
The part-time Office Assistant supports the Career Education Options (CEO) Program team and plays a critical role in maintaining program compliance. This position is responsible for assisting with essential documentation, record management, and data entry processes to ensure all program requirements are met accurately, efficiently, and compliant with state and institutional guidelines.
This is a temporary part-time position (up to 19 hours per week) with an anticipated end date of 06/30/2027.
Pay, Benefits & Work SchedulePay rate: $22.00/hour
The successful candidate is expected to work up to 19 hours per week. This position typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.
The temporary hourly employment is limited to the earlier of 1,050 hours or 12 consecutive months beginning from the original date of hire. Per WAC 357-04-045, following 1,050 hours or 12 consecutive months, an individual is not eligible for re-employment at Bellevue College in another temporary part-time hourly position. Temporary hourly employees who work more than three hundred fifty (350) hours in a twelve consecutive month period may be subject to provisions of one the collective bargaining agreements covering Classified employees at Bellevue College.
This position is expected to NOT be eligible for benefits because eligibility is limited only to employees working at least an average of 80 hours in eligible employment for more than 6 consecutive months and at least 8 hours a month. Eligible positions are eligible for certain benefits.

About the DepartmentThe Center for High School Programs supports the mission of Bellevue College by providing high quality, needs-based and accessible services, which support student access to and completion of educational opportunities that advance pluralism, inclusion, and global awareness. The Department is comprised of trained and experienced professionals who work directly with Bellevue College students to support them in meeting their high school, college, and career goals.
Career Education Options (CEO) is a specialized youth reengagement program established by Washington State House Bill 1418. WAC 392-700 was written to ensure that students who have dropped out of high school, or are very likely to do so, are given the opportunity to continue their education through the reengagement system. This system provides for multiple pathways of educational programming. In addition to a high school diploma the system allows students to study for their high-school equivalency certificate, enables them to attend college at no cost, provides high level of case management support, and does not require them to have high school graduation as their primary goal.
Essential FunctionsNew Student Intake Support
- Guide students through required program entrance steps
- Verify completion and accuracy of required program and college records
- Support orientation activities, including assisting with information sessions, communications, and event reminders
Document Management
- Maintain secure, organized, and accessible student records
- Apply standardized naming conventions and ensure proper document filing and version control
- Cross-check program records with student information systems and resolve discrepancies to maintain data integrity
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- 0-6 months of experience working in an office environment.
- Demonstrated customer service skills including active listening, responsiveness, and consistent follow-through.
- Ability to provide clear written and verbal communication to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in Windows operating system, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word), and electronic file storage systems.
- Experience working with confidential educational records
- Experience working in an Opportunity Youth and/or Open Doors program
- Bilingual or multi-lingual skills in either Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Pashto, or Somali
Conditions of Employment
