Ecommerce Data Analyst

Position Overview

The Ecommerce Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive informed decision-making. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into data analysis requirements. Review online and offline retail sales data and determine effective reporting to drive strategic decisions on future initiatives. Includes analyzing onsite visitor behavior, customer information, touchpoints, customer flow and order data by channel.

The Analyst will notice trends, discrepancies, and find effective insights or solutions by taking a holistic perspective. Uses data to predict and address problems or opportunities and finds answers that support strategic goals. Can identify “noise” to ensure focus on key goals and the task at hand.

They will help identify processes, techniques and opportunities for improvement of existing data technology and reporting tools. This person will work closely with the marketing team, corporate IT team and outside agencies. They should be able to work collaboratively and effectively across the team while focusing on action and learning.

Key Responsibilities

Site Engagement & Insight Mining

·         Analyze and interpret website visitor behavior, customer intent and sales.

·         Track site updates and performance changes.

·         Recommend website and campaign optimizations based on site analysis.

·         Compiles high-quality reports on key performance indicators throughout the funnel including awareness, consideration and conversion metrics.

·         Interpret the components of a marketing dashboard and its relevance in guiding future marketing initiatives and fostering data driven decision making.

Testing + Innovation

·         Carries out A/B Testing and/or various digital touchpoints campaigns to establish the most effective strategy.

·         Analyzes customer touchpoints and interactions to identify the connection between customers and the brand.

·         Describes the needs, values, perceptions, emotions, cognitions, and behaviors of target customer profiles.

·         Leads customer insights gained through analytics to inform site, creative, and brand decisions.

·         Monitors industry best practices and analyzes campaign performance to optimize plans going forward.

Digital Marketing

·         Measure ROI and maintain conversion value metrics to analyze campaign performance.

·         Identifies opportunities for audience development and growth through analysis of digital customer behavior.

·         Supports the development of digital marketing multi-channel campaigns aimed at increasing loyalty.

·         Analyzes creative performance and determines trends based on creative and channel.

·         Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address specific business questions and provide timely insights.

·         Support segmentation initiative to drive enhanced marketing automation capabilities.

Customer Value + Engagement

·         Collaborate with Marketing + Retail teams to build customer life-cycle programs, focusing on engagement, lead generation, and nurturing initiatives.

·         Re-engage existing customers through the promotion of new products, services, and established relationships.

·         Educates cross-functional team on customer experience concepts, value, and supporting process impact.

·         Provides regular competitive benchmarking and customer awareness best practices.

·         Serves as customer advocate with senior management; ensures that customer findings are understood, tracked, and acted upon.

Additional Skills

Strong intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, self-motivated, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Communicates effectively; ensures that information is passed on to others who should be kept informed, expresses oneself clearly in conversations and interactions; provides background when working through an issue, and proactively provides the necessary level of detail. Interpret information and break down complex topics to digestible, actionable pieces.

Data modeling and familiarity with various Business Intelligent tools, including DOMO. Ability to identify and troubleshoot data issues, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data sources.

Experience with Salesforce Service, Marketing Cloud and Commerce Cloud a plus.

Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, analytics, computer science or related field.

Experience working with ecommerce data and CRM system data with 4-7 years of relevant work experience in an analytical role for a direct to consumer brand. Heavy focus on analysis and visual representation of the data, and understanding of ecommerce and business best practices, systems and technology.

Advanced technical experience with Google Analytics, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

This position has a partial work from home opportunity with required days at the corporate headquarters in Bassett, VA.  Within an hour drive from Greensboro, High Point, Danville; and further to other nearby cities of Raleigh and Roanoke.
