In this position you will be responsible for scheduling patient treatments and diagnostic procedures; receiving physician orders, insurance verification, referrals, gathering pre-authorizations and pre-certifications. You will maintain records and produce statistical reports as required.
This position is eligible for a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18% Night Shift Differential if applicable.
Interviews for qualified candidates tentatively will take place in July. Banner Ocotillo Medical Center is set to open fall of 2020, at this time, this position is due to start in October 2020.

About Banner Ocotillo Medical Center
The new Banner Ocotillo Medical Center will open later this year on the southeast corner of Alma School Road and Loop 202 Santan Freeway. The four story, 245,000 square foot comprehensive medical care center situated on an 18-acre campus, will open with approximately 96 beds with room for expansion while providing imaging, surgery, labor and delivery, intensive care and an emergency room.

This position is responsible for scheduling patient treatments or diagnostic procedures for assigned area. Activities include pre-registration; receiving physician orders, insurance verification, gathering pre-authorizations and pre-certifications. Maintains records and produces statistical reports as required. May distribute educational materials to patients and families if needed in assigned department.
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
The position also requires skills and abilities typically attained with 2 years of medical clerical experience; preferably in a hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling setting. Medical terminology is required. Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as effective human relations and communication skills.
Must be proficient with commonly used office software and computers and possess the ability to use computerized scheduling systems. Must be able to maintain accurate statistical records, gather data, and produce reports.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
