Job Purpose/Overview:

The primary purpose and function of the veterinarian is to deliver the daily medical operations and veterinary care within the confines of the mobile unit.  The veterinarian should strive to deliver the highest quality veterinary care and an exceptional client experience.

The veterinarian will be responsible for partnering with the veterinary technician or veterinary assistant mobile. Due to the self-contained nature of the mobile unit and the need to drive, this role is an expansion and deviation from the veterinary role.

Context and Scope:

  • The mobile clinic will visit central locations (retirement communities, office complexes, retail locations, etc.) to provide veterinary care.
  • The Doctor Veterinarian Mobile will partner with the Veterinary Technician/Veterinary Assistant Mobile to ensure proper medical supplies are on hand to perform duties needed during daily operations.


  • State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.

Additional Licensing:

  • A State Controlled Substance (SCS) License may be required by the state in which you intend to work. If you do not already hold an SCS, Banfield encourages you to obtain this license after your start date as the practice may reimburse this cost.  
  • Once an associate has obtained their SCS, Banfield will apply and pay for your DEA License.  
  • New associates will be required to take their state USDA Accreditation class by the time they reach the 12-week mark from their hire date.
