About the Role
The Shift Lead is a key member of the hospital leadership team who supports and assists the Practice Manager, Chief of Staff (COS), and veterinary team. This position helps maintain the flow of patients, ensures a safe and positive environment for pets, clients, and associates, and drives hospital productivity and profitability. When not assisting in leadership duties, the Shift Lead performs the responsibilities of a Client Service Coordinator or Veterinary Assistant.
What You'll Do
Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional client service—leading by example.
Support the hospital leadership in developing an efficient, productive, and engaged team that delivers the highest quality care.
Supervise and guide the team during shifts to ensure excellent medical care, client satisfaction, and associate engagement.
Help create and maintain a culture that reflects Banfield's mission and values.
Assist with scheduling to meet client and hospital needs while managing associate time off and continuing education requests.
Communicate effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other associates to ensure smooth hospital operations.
Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans®, preventive care, and pet health needs.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized hospital environment that adheres to all Banfield standards, policies, and dress guidelines.
Support mentorship and training of team members.
