Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a full time entry-level systems engineer with a software emphasis to support the United States Air Force (USAF) Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) system. The successful candidate will support the development and maintenance of high reliability systems, testing, debugging and software analysis.

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the individual will perform a variety of technical duties involved in the analysis, development and maintenance of assigned computer systems, databases and applications to meet USAF needs. These duties include: resolving technology problems and implementation of system enhancements; reviews, analyzes and modifies existing systems and programs as necessary; tests and documents new systems as assigned; and does other related work as required.

Typical Tasks:

• Prepares customer, operations and systems documentation.

• Provides assistance and training to customers during and after the conversion, implementation, or installation of new systems
and software.

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status

• Communicates with USAF, contractors, internal review teams and outside agencies to exchange information, coordinate activities and resolve issues or concerns.

• Converts operational requirements into technical requirements and specifications.

• Verifies complex software designs and documentation to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.

• Monitors, analyzes and reports application and/or system effectiveness for the meeting of operational requirements, system requirements and standards.

• Participates in testing of developed software updates to verify user needs are met and no system degradation occurs.

• Interface with the customer in providing engineering services.

• Participate in technology evaluations and trade studies.

• Performs other duties as required.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelors in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technologies, Physics, Mathematics or similar technical field

Preferred Skills and Education
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering group.
  • Experience with software coding and/or testing.
  • One year combined experience (coop, internships, full-time employment) working in an engineering or technical capacity.
  • ASEP certification or achieving this certification within 12 months of employment start.
