Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite, traveling domestically and internationally to supplier sites, and working remotely.

What is a Sourcing Engineer at BAE Systems? It is a highly empowered role with strategic and tactical Procurement and Supplier Quality responsibilities for custom new development programs. In this role you will:
- Select cost competitive and technically capable sources to deliver the next generation of military avionics control systems and power & propulsion systems
- Collaborate with Engineering, Programs, and Operations to identify risks related to past supplier performance, onboarding new suppliers, supplier transitions, and critical part/process technologies
- Coordinate technical reviews and design for manufacturability reviews for complex supplier parts to improve efficiencies, drive out cost, manage change, and mitigate supply chain risks
- Negotiate contracts, place purchase orders, and amend purchase orders throughout the development cycle
- Proactively engage with the supply base to confirm that robust plans are in place to comply with all purchase order flow downs and meet agreed upon delivery commitments
- Facilitate problem solving activity and develop plans to rapidly recover from unexpected design, quality, or delivery issues
- Communicate business needs and build relationships with supply base
- Maintain compliance to established procurement and quality systems
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Candidate must be familiar with procurement and/or supplier quality processes.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with root cause and corrective action tools.
- Motivated team player with a positive attitude.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Engineering or Technical Degree
- 5+ years experience in a related field
- Understanding of AS9100 or equivalent quality system
- Proficiency in Oracle ERP
- Familiarity with AS9145/APQP/PPAP requirements and tools
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $83900 - $142600
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
