The Product Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer search experience on Applied.com. As a part of the E-Business team, this position will work closely the with the Product Information Management, Omni-Channel Marketing, and Master Data Management teams to develop, direct, and implement online product merchandising, taxonomy, and onsite search strategies. You will collaborate with external resources to drive the continual improvement of site navigation leading to increased online conversions, average order value, add to cart rate and revenue.
 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop category level strategy, to grow product category performance through optimized product presentations, navigational hierarchy, search facets, specification attributes, onsite search biasing, and benchmarking exercises.
  • Build merchandising strategies to ensure a positive search and shopping experience for Applied.com customers.
  • Optimize the search experience by monitoring search-related analytics and recommending changes including; create business rules that manage the search results display, search facet management, synonyms, keyword re-directs, content spotlighting and merchandising positions and targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams to achieve necessary results.
  • Strong problem solver that can identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information skillfully, developing alternative solutions, and using analytical reasoning skills to drive groups to a successful solution.
  • Sets a high bar for merchandising strategy success by keeping abreast of best practices and solutions, ensuring that self-development is prioritized to meet the changing needs of the business.
  • Drive Sales, conversion, and AOV by utilizing and recommending new tools, technologies or processes to improve merchandising capabilities.
  • Create a highly engaging digital merchandising experience through a strategy based on customer insights, site metrics and data.
  • Serves as a key contributor on the E-Business team and actively participates in team, department, and cross-functional meetings, producing presentations and reports to demonstrate ongoing deliverables, milestones, and key successes.


Qualifications

  • Experience structuring and managing complex projects, paired with the ability to lead and navigate challenging conversations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills – able to identify, analyze and propose solutions to various technical and business issues leveraging data and subject matter expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, “self-starter” environment serving as a catalyst for change and managing multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • Solid online merchandising background with experience in executing online search.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to lead and execute new ideas and processes and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), Google Analytics, commercial search platforms, PIM, and SAP products.
  • Good product sensibility and ability to merchandise sites in a visually appealing way.
