Applied Industrial Technologies is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada. We currently have an immediate opening for a full time Hose Assembler in our Nisku, AB location.

 

Position Summary

The Hose Assembler cuts, fabricates, assembles, and tests hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies based on work orders and specifications. This role involves the use of crimpers, saws, measuring tools, and test equipment to ensure safe, high quality products. The position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast paced shop environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, clean, mark, assemble, crimp, and test hose assemblies according to specifications
  • Operate cutting and assembly equipment including saws, crimpers, grinders, and related tools
  • Perform pressure testing to verify product integrity and safety
  • Inspect finished assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards
  • Read and follow work orders, drawings, and production instructions
  • Document non conformances and communicate discrepancies to supervision
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas following 5S or similar practices
  • Handle materials, manage inventory, and prepare finished products for shipping
  • Operate forklift and other shop equipment as required
  • Support warehouse organization and general shop activities as needed

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments such as tape measures and calipers
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality standards
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Positive, professional attitude with a strong work ethic

 

Experience and Training

  • Previous experience in hose assembly, industrial manufacturing, automotive, plumbing, or mechanical assembly is preferred but not required
  • On the job training provided, including product training, hose assembly and crimping, hose verification, kit assembly, computer systems, and forklift operation

 

Physical and Working Conditions

  • Fast paced, hands on environment with repetitive tasks
  • Standing, bending, crouching, and kneeling required
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to approximately 35 to 50 pounds on a regular basis

 

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Flexibility to work different shifts including evenings or weekends if required
