Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Machine Brake Operator located in Henrico.
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Machine Brake Operator role performs a variety of duties in the set-up and operation of equipment as defined in the work instructions for each process.
What a typical day looks like:
Set up and operate press brake machines to manufacture parts according to work instructions, blueprints, and customer specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine dimensional requirements.
Perform machine adjustments and basic programming to ensure proper part configuration and quality.
Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, protractors, and other precision measuring tools.
Verify dimensional accuracy and identify defects or non-conforming parts.
Troubleshoot machine and production issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and efficiency.
Conduct daily equipment inspection and report equipment concerns to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
Follow established safety procedures, quality standards, and production requirements.
Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required.
Communicate effectively with team members, leads, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and support departmental productivity goals.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 1+ year of CNC machine operation experience, with specific experience operating a press brake machine.
Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments, including tape measures, calipers, and protractors.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information in one-on-one and small group settings with team members, leads, and supervisors.
Demonstrated ability to operate, set up, and perform basic maintenance on a variety of manufacturing equipment.
Basic press brake programming knowledge, including troubleshooting and making routine machine adjustments.
