THE ROLE:
The Board and System Test Engineering group is responsible for activities of the full product life cycle. Activities include pre-silicon phase such as driving design for test and manufacturability, test plans, etc.; new product introduction (NPI) phase such as development of automated test equipment (ATE) test solutions, verification, and validation of product performance; production phase such as driving down costs through test time reduction and yield improvement and high customer quality.
Job responsibilities for this position include board/system test leadership at the factory, debug of test interface HW, develop test plans, board issue debug, data analysis for device performance, HW/SW & system integration, characterization test, releasing cost effective production test solutions into mass production, test support in production, yield improvement and test time reduction activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will work closely with multi-functional teams, circuit and logic design, verification, test engineering to accomplish tasks.
- You will work closely with our vendors.
- You will lead a cross-function Engineering team to help guide our GPU and datacenter products from NPI to mass production. Along the way, you will help to identify and solve a wide range of issues that are blocking the volume ramp.
- You will initiate debug activities onsite at the factory and with your peers at AMD.
- Applicants should be experienced in HW troubleshooting with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work with common bench top test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, power supplies, etc).
- Able to work independently and with good initiative/leadership to overcome technical challenges.
- Coordinate/lead closely with peers & seniors to ensure timely and effective communication of all assigned work activities.
- A self-starter is required and able to deal with a high-level of ambiguity.
- Support server manufacturing bring-up/testing/training at the factory.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES:
- At least 2+ years of relevant experience in test manufacturing support.
- Good knowledge of high-speed digital and analog circuits.
- Good experience with the PCBA fabrication process.
- Solid experience in supporting test in manufacturing.
- Deep understanding of PC and server architecture.
- Hardware Expertise with strong debugging and analytical skills.
- Deep knowledge of electronic circuit debugging and analytical skills.
- Solid experience of Linux Environment.
- Familiar with Linux shell scripting and/or python programming.
- Knowledge and hands on experience of setting up workloads in a hyper converged infrastructure highly desired.
- GPU, Server and/or Desktop PC motherboard design or debug experience.
- Solid Experience in project management and in leading meetings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good knowledge of both written and spoken English.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering with at least 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
