THE TEAM
AMD's Data Center Platform Engineering Group (DPEG) organization is transforming the industry with our AI-based Graphic Processors. Our primary objective is to design exceptional products that drive the evolution of computing experiences, serving as the cornerstone for enterprise Data Centers, Artificial Intelligence (AI), High Performance Computing (HPC), and Embedded systems. If this resonates with you, come and join our Data Center GPU organization where we are building amazing AI-powered products with amazing people.
THE ROLE
The Data Center Platform Engineering Group (DPEG) is seeking a Program Lead to drive end-to-end program execution within the AI/HPC Data Center Lab. This role serves as the primary interface between the program and its stakeholders — translating requirements into daily priorities and providing the leadership necessary to ensure consistent, high-quality execution. During new program deployments, this role will be supported by an on-site Program Manager (PM) to ensure seamless ramp-up and continuity.
THE PERSON
The ideal candidate is a decisive, hands-on leader with deep technical knowledge of data center platforms and a proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. They are an effective communicator who can bridge engineering teams and program stakeholders, and a self-starter who drives accountability across the team.

- Own program execution as the primary metric — track, report, and drive daily progress against program milestones and deliverables
- Serve as the primary interface to the program — translate incoming requirements into actionable daily priorities and redirect team efforts as needed to maintain execution momentum
- Provide leadership and direction to lab engineers and cross-functional contributors to ensure daily execution goals are met
- Manage requirements intake — receive, clarify, and decompose program requirements into executable tasks for the lab team
- Coordinate new program deployments in partnership with the on-site Program PM, ensuring smooth bring-up, resource readiness, and stakeholder alignment
- Drive triage and issue resolution for system-, firmware-, and software-level issues encountered during platform bring-up and validation
- Maintain visibility into lab health, system availability, and execution blockers — escalate risks proactively
- Facilitate communication between DPEG platform leads, chief engineers, and lab engineers to align on priorities and resolve dependencies
- Integrate and oversee automated testing within CI/CD environments (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible) to support continuous validation
- Manage and report within a ticketing system, ensuring clarity on task status, blockers, and resolution steps
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated experience leading technical programs or engineering teams in a data center, HPC, or GPU lab environment
- Strong understanding of hardware bring-up, silicon validation, and pre-production platform deployment
- Ability to interpret and act on program requirements, translating them into clear daily priorities for engineering teams
- Experience interfacing with cross-functional stakeholders including platform leads, chief engineers, and program managers
- Knowledge of in lab infrastructure including test bench setup, system administration, and fault detection/management
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Ansible) and managed ticketing systems
- Knowledge of computer hardware (GPU, CPU/APU, memory, PCIe, bus logic) and software architecture (driver/BIOS)
- Strong communication and documentation skills — able to clearly convey status, risks, and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and drive tasks to completion in a dynamic environment
