Technical Marketing Engineer - GPU Performance & Partner Training/Workshops

 

THE ROLE:

As a core member of the technical marketing engineering (TME) team in AMD's Data Center GPU & Accelerated Processing product management organization, your role is pivotal in shaping and building the entire customer journey, from the very first point starting with first contact & education through to making it easy for customers to understand the performance our solutions can provide to unlock the potential of their applications and workloads in areas such as large language models (LLMs), computer vision, industry benchmarks as well as HPC workloads. You are entrusted with the crucial task of ensuring that our customers can hit the ground running, with clear and straightforward information about our products and software at their fingertips. Your contribution will play a vital part in cementing our reputation as a customer-centric company that is committed to excellence at every turn.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Design and lead high-impact product training programs tailored for internal partners and external customers, delivered via various formats including virtual and in-person sessions.
  • Drive cross-team alignment among Labs, Engineering, Sales, Product, and Executive Leadership to ensure cohesive program execution.
  • Serve as a technical presenter for webcasts, live events, and industry hackathons, representing the company in thought leadership roles.
  • Design and manage a comprehensive library of technical materials, including manuals, guidebooks, application notes, and READMEs, to support and educate our customers on AMD's data center GPU solutions.
  • Keep abreast of the latest GPU technology and software developments, ensuring our technical content is aligned with the newest enhancements and capabilities.
  • Proactively gather and integrate feedback from technical experts to ensure documentation meets real-world application and customer requirements.
  • Support the Technical Marketing Engineering AI Workloads & Performance lead in conduct detailed benchmarking and analysis of AI workloads across single and multi-node configurations, comparing performance against past generations and competitors.
  • Keep up to speed on competitive trends covering GPU, CPU, interconnects, networking, and software stacks to guide optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate with hardware/software product management and product marketing teams to provide technical claims and messaging support in order to enable business development and other AMD partners
  • Proactively gather and integrate feedback from technical experts to ensure documentation meets real-world application and customer requirements.
  • Lead by example to improve the team's technical documentation capabilities, mentoring colleagues to achieve documentation excellence from initial development through to release.  

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven track record of technical presentations and participation in industry conferences or hackathons.
  • Strong data science background with expertise in benchmarking, scalability analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Expertise in developing technical documentation, with proficiency in Read the Docs, MarkDown, and Jupyter Notebooks.
  • Have a proven track record of writing both educational and explanatory content which simplifies the complexities of GPU solutions and performance for technical & non-technical audiences.
  • Be well-versed with the suite of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other utilities pivotal in crafting and distributing customer documentation and training resources.
  • Hands-on experience with GPUs, FPGAs, or other machine learning accelerators, including  knowledge of performance-critical APIs and tools like HIP, CUDA, ROCm, or OpenCL.
  • A history of engagement with customers in high-tech sectors, particularly within hyperscale datacenter or high-performance computing (HPC) landscapes.
  • Exhibit a relentless curiosity in technological advancements, coupled with the capacity to distill complex concepts into easy-to-understand communication. 
  • Be an exemplary communicator — clear, concise, and engaging — infusing integrity and transparency into all forms of interaction. 
  • Harness your passion for education to elucidate, enthrall, and empower your audience, whether it's through writing, problem-solving, or live interaction.

  • Strong technical expertise in product marketing engineering and data science, especially in AI and GPU-accelerated workloads.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver complex training programs

  

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS 

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering required. MS or PhD a plus. 

 

LOCATION 

  • Santa Clara, CA area is preferred for this role. Additionally, candidates based near AMD primary office locations of Austin, Vancouver, Calgary, or Toronto will also be given priority.
