JOB DETAILS:
• Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada
• Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time 37.5 hrs a week, either in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.
• Duration: 16-months, May 05, 2025 - August 27, 2026
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
AMD's Instinct Systems Design Program Management Team is seeking a highly motivated Co-Op student to join us and play a critical, hands-on role in supporting engineering development of AMD's Instinct Datacenter GPU solutions. Under a Program Manager mentor, the ideal candidate will engage with cross-functional teams to ensure that our engineers are enabled for successful planning, design, development, and verification of board level graphics solutions. In this role –
• Through onboarding and training, you will become our team's subject-matter expert for internal supply-demand systems and processes
• You will manage quantities, requirements, and collection of all build-related collateral for various engineering sample builds and take responsibility for ensuring they are recorded correctly in any internal systems or reports
• You will coordinate with multiple engineering teams, operations teams, and contract manufacturers to track progress on engineering sample builds and deliver the samples to various teams according to committed schedules
• You will collaborate closely with the Program Management team, providing updates on plan accuracy, status, and risks for your assigned programs and functional areas
• You will be encouraged to proactively find and implement ways to optimize the tools and processes involved in the execution of your tasks
• You will have the opportunity to explore various functional areas of interest, via the connections you will make with subject matter experts in AMD's different engineering disciplines
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

You are currently enrolled in a Canada-based University, making progress towards a Bachelor's degree, majoring in engineering or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess the following technical skills:
- Data visualization using tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Minitab to create insightful, easy-to-understand reports
- Experience using Python, R, Excel VBA/Macros, or other programming languages for analysis and manipulation of datasets
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience using project management tools such as Gantt charts, critical paths, and resource allocation.
- Microsoft Project or Smartsheet experience specifically would be an asset
- Experience working with issue tracking in JIRA would be an asset
- Experience using Confluence for documentation of organizational activities would be an asset
