THE ROLE:

This is a key role in post-silicon system power and performance engineering on AMD client products, including workstation, extreme high-end desktops, APU desktops, and mainstream mobile processors.

You will act as end-to-end system design engineer for system power measurement, AVL component joint optimzation , performance  benchmarking, and further development and optimization from first silicon to production.

 

THE PERSON:

The person needs to be passionate and self-motivated for deliveries and innovation, leadership demonstration, also with good communication skills.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This role will lead the power and perfromance optimzation via integreating AMD platform with popular custimized audio solutions.
  • This role will lead AMD's new APU/CPU Power and Performance defining, verifying and customer releasing. Candidate needs to find/develop different methodologies to finalize the plan and plan execution.
  • This role will need to find out the best performance and power balance for AMD's new APU/CPU product, including but not limit to silicon leakage, boost time constraint, temperature control and variant methods for power/performance fine tunings.
  • The candidate will have product responsibility for the power and performance aspects of new product development. 
  • This responsibility will extend from the development of pre-silicon test plans to the delivery of production power and performance characterization and optimization data in support the product launch. 
  • In addition, the candidate will be the initial point of contact for the other AMD engineering development teams on all power and performance issues.  The candidate is responsible for reporting out the power and performance status to the AMD technical community. 
  • The candidate will program manage the technical resources necessary to execute the test plans.
  • In the event of customer power and performance issues, the candidate will be the technical liaison in support of resolution.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Audio Codec and Audio processing Solution Design Expierence is a significant plus
  • Knowledge of Audio Codec or system architectures and their implications on system power and performance is a plus
  • X86 power management feature design, development or validation experiences are highly preferred.
  • Board development experience is a great plus.
  • Script program capabilities for Python, C is a great plus.
  • Knowledge in BIOS, device driver, application software, benchmark software, and how they interact with hardware is preferred.
  • Hands-on lab experience with a focus on power and performance data collection and analysis. 
  • Excellent program management and communication skill is required (both verbal and written), including Mandarin and English.
  • In this position, key performance skills include decision making, problem solving, teamwork, and communication.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor with 5+ years' experience.
  • Master with 3+ years' experiences.
