Job Role and Responsibility: AMD Design LLC, a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring a Staff Product Quality Engineer to Work with the internal technical organizations and teams (such as design, assembly, and product testing) to ensure high-quality products are achieved from the first product release. Coordinate, direct, and manage product quality activities with a focus on issue resolution, responsible party approval, process control, and quality assurance from New Production Introduction (NPI) to End of Life (EOL). Proactively monitor both ZT factory and field nonconformance metrics – including yield and HW replacements in the factory and field, and identify & drive process improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation including 8D and 5-why's. Collect and analyze large amounts of data to discover product process performance trends then proactively feedback to the team to drive improvements. Engage in system-level debug resolution that can include both firmware (FW) & hardware (HW) defects. Work with customers to clearly define factory build report expectations including frequency of reports, expected data, and response to first-past yield excursions. Manage field and customer escalations, successfully driving resolution of customer issues. Become an advocate for the customer through excellent knowledge of the ZT manufacturing process, timely follow through, and customer focus.

Bachelor's degree in engineering management, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Quality Engineering or a related field, plus 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or related role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept a master's degree in engineering management, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Quality Engineering or a related field, plus 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or related role.

- Leading quality excursions and day-to-day data analytics with a focus on impacts on the customer.
- Experience in at least one of the following: Print circuit board assembly, or server & rack level assembly.
- Interfacing both internally and with the customer at all levels of the organization, including the executive level.
- Examining and interpreting data to identify patterns, trends, and insights, and using the analyzed data to make informed decisions or conclusions.
- Quality concepts, including root cause analysis and statistical process control principles.
In lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering management, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Quality Engineering or a related field, plus 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or related role, the employer will accept a master's degree in engineering management, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Quality Engineering or a related field, plus 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or related role.
With a master's degree, 3 years of experience with the following skills are required:
- Leading quality excursions and day-to-day data analytics with a focus on impacts on the customer.
- Experience in at least one of the following: Print circuit board assembly, or server & rack level assembly.
- Interfacing both internally and with the customer at all levels of the organization, including the executive level.
