THE ROLE:  

Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is an entrepreneurial research and development team tasked to build AMD's future IPs, new platforms, and exciting products. Our organization fosters a fast-paced environment of innovation, technology development, and cross-team collaboration, aiming at short concept-to-market time, while solving tomorrow's imaging problems and productizing seemingly impossible solutions. THE PERSON:  

We are looking for talented and result-oriented individuals to optimize image quality of camera solutions, to evaluate camera control and image processing algorithms, and to contribute to our long-term technology vision that will have significant impact for AMD's future products in 3-5 years horizon.

You will perform image quality tuning and analysis, prepare reports on image quality, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class imaging solutions across multiple markets. You will define and apply ISP tuning metrics and methodologies, and provide feedback to imaging algorithm, tools, and camera SW development teams to produce market-leading smart cameras with outstanding still image and video quality and artificial intelligence capabilities.

 

The ideal candidates should be self-motivated, passionate about image quality and camera imaging, and experienced in conducting competitive analysis of camera solutions, collecting objective performance indicators, and optimizing subjective image quality. They should have a track record of delivering tuned cameras to customers, effective communication skills, and the ability to learn quickly and work efficiently with team members of diversified backgrounds.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Perform image sensor calibration and camera image quality (IQ) tuning
  • Conduct competitive analysis of camera solutions, collect objective performance indicators, and prepare test reports

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Commercial camera imaging and IQ tuning experience from customer projects
  • Proficient in working with imaging laboratory equipment, test charts, and cameras
  • Experts in videoconferencing benchmarks, IQ metrics, and camera tuning and evaluation
  • Adept at 3A (incl. muti-exposure & face-based), ISP pipeline, parameter adaptation, HDR imaging, tone mapping, multi-frame processing, and image stabilization
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and customers
  • Matlab programming, with focus on digital image processing
  • Camera module components (lens, sensor, actuator, gyro/IMU)
  • Computer vision, machine learning, and intelligent collaboration  

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or other relevant areas
