The Role:
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Technical Manager / Lead to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's product within the client platform system engineering team, you will lead our growing lab based engineering team of post-silicon focused engineers to provide industry leading SOC power management solutions for AMD's APU processors. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.

A dynamic, passionate team leader who has a proven track record working across engineering disciplines and management teams to deliver optimized power, performance, and schedule based engineering solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a talented post silicon team focused on client SOC power management delivering efficient system power management solutions for new APU/CPU client products
- Lead client SOC power management enablement and validation strategies from pre-silicon through customer adoption working across architecture, silicon design, firmware, validation, and debug teams
- Proactively leading client SOC power management project planning, developing and maintaining schedules, managing dependencies, and ensuring quality of deliverables at committed milestones
- Drive debug and resolution of power management issues across silicon, firmware/BIOS, and debug teams
- Develops regular status representing the power management team in program meetings providing status to program and senior management
- Develop and lead power management process improvement initiatives including technical testplan development, quality, and efficiency improvements
- Coaches and mentors staff
Preferred Experience:
- Engineering management and technical leadership experience in SOC power management domain.
- Considered a technical leader in SOC power management and has a proven track record for sustained innovation.
- Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy.
- Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
- Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of engineering disciplines and management.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in related discipline preferred
