Senior Manager of AI Education and Developer Outreach Marketing

 

THE ROLE:

 

AMD is seeking a Senior Manager of AI Education and Developer Outreach Marketing to drive education-focused marketing initiatives that support AI learning, academic engagement, and early-stage developer programs. This role will execute and scale programs that connect AMD's AI technologies with non-academic and academic developers universities, students, and nonprofit partners supporting long-term talent pipelines and ecosystem adoption.

 

THE PERSON:

 

The ideal candidate is a strong program leader and cross-functional collaborator with experience in AI education, ecosystem marketing, and academic engagement, capable of translating complex AI technologies into clear, compelling narratives for developer non-academic and academic audiences.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Strategy & Program Leadership

  • Contribute to the development and execution of AI Education and Developer Outreach Marketing strategy in alignment with broader AI and marketing priorities.
  • Own defined program areas within AI education outreach marketing for non-academic and academic communities, and early-pipeline initiatives, ensuring high-quality execution and measurable impact.
  • Act as a key marketing partner and internal advocate for education, workforce development, and long-term developer community growth.

 

AI Education & Academic Engagement

  • Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns that support AI education initiatives across general developer target population, higher education and selected pre-college programs.
  • Partner with The AMD University Program, AI Academy, research, and internal stakeholders to support curriculum adoption, research enablement, and faculty and student engagement.
  • Translate advanced AI and computing technologies into accessible messaging and content for academic and student audiences.

 

Ecosystem & Partnership Support

  • Support the development and expansion of partnerships with non-acadmemic and academic training institutions, nonprofits, and student developer organizations.
  • Help deliver education-focused commitments and initiatives with clear metrics, reporting, and storytelling.
  • Partner with internal teams to represent AMD in selected non-academic, academic, nonprofit, and ecosystem forums as a subject-matter contributor.

 

Early-Pipeline & Community Programs

  • Execute awareness and engagement programs for high school and early college students introducing AI learning pathways using AMD technology.
  • Gather insights from students, educators, and developers to inform outreach programs and broader ecosystem efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with developer relations, product marketing, and regional marketing teams to ensure continuity across the learning-to-developer journey.

 

Cross-Functional Execution & Operations

  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, developer relations, communications, legal, government relations, and regional teams to deliver aligned programs.
  • Define program-level success metrics, track outcomes, and optimize initiatives based on results.
  • Manage program budgets, agencies, and external partners with strong operational discipline.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Significant experience in marketing, ecosystem development, or academic engagement/academia, including people or program leadership experience.
  • Experience working with universities, academic institutions, or education-focused organizations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, administrators, students, and education partners.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong skills in translating complex technical concepts into effective marketing programs.
  • Experience executing and scaling programs, ideally with global reach.
  • Background combining marketing with developer community, education, research, or workforce development initiatives.
  • Experience partnering with nonprofits, student developer groups, or community organizations.
  • Exposure to global programs across North America, EMEA, and APAC.
