THE ROLE
AMD is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to lead global strategy and revenue growth across AI labs and model providers within the Data Center GPU Business Unit. This executive will define and execute AMD's engagement model for AI-native companies, foundation model developers, AI super users, and large-scale digital native enterprises building advanced AI capabilities.
This leader will be responsible for driving large, strategic platform engagements that accelerate adoption of AMD Instinct™ accelerators and AMD's AI software ecosystem across frontier AI workloads, large-scale model training, inference platforms, and next-generation AI infrastructure deployments.
The role requires a blend of executive-level relationship leadership, AI ecosystem fluency, commercial rigor, and cross-functional influence to scale AMD's position in one of the most competitive and strategically important markets in technology.
THE PERSON
The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of AI infrastructure, foundation model workloads, and accelerated compute platforms, along with a proven ability to build and scale strategic relationships in fast-moving markets.
You demonstrate:
- Executive presence with the ability to influence at the board and C-suite level
- Experience leading large-scale platform negotiations
- Strong understanding of AI model training economics and inference scaling
- Ability to translate complex technical capabilities into strategic business value
- A track record of driving significant revenue growth in highly competitive environment
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Revenue Leadership
- Own global business development strategy for AI end users within the DC GPU Business Unit.
- Drive significant revenue growth through multi-year, platform-level engagements.
- Develop and execute account strategies across AI-native startups, frontier model developers, and digital-first enterprises.
- Structure and close complex commercial agreements involving hardware, software, and ecosystem components.
Executive Engagement & Industry Presence
- Establish and maintain C-level relationships with AI and digital enterprise leaders.
- Position AMD as a long-term AI platform partner across training and inference workloads.
- Represent AMD in strategic industry discussions related to AI infrastructure scaling.
Platform & Ecosystem Development
- Influence adoption of AMD's AI software stack, open frameworks, and ecosystem integrations.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to align roadmap priorities with advanced AI workload requirements.
- Identify co-development opportunities, joint optimization initiatives, and reference deployments.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with:
- Data Center GPU Product Management
- AI Software Engineering (ROCm™, frameworks, optimization)
- Global Sales & Account Teams
- Corporate Strategy
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- 15+ years of experience in business development, strategic sales, or general management within semiconductors, AI infrastructure, hyperscale cloud, or high-growth AI companies.
- Direct experience working with foundation model developers, AI-native startups, or large digital enterprises deploying AI at scale.
- Deep familiarity with:
- GPU/accelerator architectures
- AI training and inference workloads
- AI software frameworks and optimization
- Cloud and on-prem AI infrastructure models
- Demonstrated success closing complex, multi-hundred-million-dollar or larger technology platform agreements.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
