Client Performance Analysis Engineer

THE ROLE:

 

The successful candidate will join AMD's Client Performance Team in Bangalore, India. The team's mandate is to analyze performance and drive next generation CPU hardware and software optimizations on key applications for AMD's notebook and gaming processors. The team is looking for an outstanding candidate to help build tools for enabling simulation and modeling of client workloads for AMD desktops and notebooks.

 

THE PERSON:

 

You have a passion for leading edge SoC architecture, design and verification. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and enjoys collaborating with architects & engineers located in different sites and time-zones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take new challenges. broad interests in Computer Systems performance, with strong expertise in Computer Architecture, keen attention to detail, excellent collaboration, and communication skills (written and spoken), ability to work independently and come up with creative solutions to challenging engineering problems.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop tools for tracing and analyzing dynamic program behavior.
  • Innovate to meet requirements of unique challenges in capturing thread and process behavior as well as OS impact in client workloads
  • Help establish best practices in program tracing and analysis across AMD and AMD's customers and partners.
  • Work with processor architecture modeling teams to drive next generation client performance features
  • Client workload performance characterization, tracing and simulations and multi multi-discipline interactions to identify, resolve and document architectural performance issues

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Good understanding of computer architecture and operating systems concepts (e.g., cache, TLB, paging, interrupt handling, etc).
  • Knowledge of dynamic binary translation techniques (e.g., DynamoRIO, QEMU TCG etc.,) would be a plus.
  • Excellent programming skills (C/C++).
  • Familiarity with the x86 ISA and assembly programming would be a plus.
  • Adept at mathematical and statistical modeling and data analysis (Excel or Python).

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • B. Tech/ M Tech with 4+ year of relevant experience, or PhD, in Computer Science/Engineering with 2+ years.
