THE ROLE: AMD is looking for a strategic software engineering leader to help define and drive security architecture for Embedded x86 SoC platforms across software, firmware, and system-level designs. In this role, you will work with AMD architecture specialists and cross-functional engineering teams to improve future products, influence security strategy, and develop innovative technologies that strengthen AMD's product portfolio. This is a high-impact role for an experienced technical leader who enjoys working at the intersection of software engineering, hardware architecture, firmware, threat analysis, and product security. You will contribute to new ASIC and hardware bring-up, guide security design decisions, assess risks, and help deliver robust, scalable, and secure solutions for next-generation AMD products.   THE PERSON: The ideal candidate is a curious, collaborative, and strategic engineering leader with a passion for security, software architecture, and technical excellence. You bring strong ownership, clear communication, sound judgment, and a continuous improvement mindset to help teams deliver secure, high-quality solutions.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define and own the overall Embedded x86 SoC security architecture strategy across system, software, and firmware domains.
• Collaborate with AMD architecture specialists to influence and improve future product security capabilities.
• Design and develop innovative AMD technologies that enhance product security, performance, and reliability.
• Apply a data-driven approach to identify optimization opportunities and guide engineering decisions.
• Analyze existing systems for security weaknesses, perform risk assessments, and support security audits and penetration testing activities.
• Lead threat analysis efforts by monitoring emerging security risks, attack methods, and industry trends.
• Develop strategies to mitigate security risks and address potential threats across hardware, firmware, and software layers.
• Oversee implementation of security measures, including selection of appropriate hardware and software security solutions.
• Drive security improvement projects across architecture, development, validation, and product delivery phases.
• Participate in new ASIC and hardware bring-up activities with a focus on secure enablement and system readiness.
• Debug and resolve complex technical issues while researching more efficient and secure approaches.
• Partner with internal teams, peers, and external collaborators to build strong technical relationships and drive aligned execution.
• Support compliance alignment with applicable security standards, laws, and regulations.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Demonstrated experience as a senior engineering professional in software development, security architecture, or platform architecture.
• Strong background in object-oriented programming, with C/C++ preferred.
• Ability to write high-quality code with strong attention to detail, maintainability, and performance.
• Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, and/or Android operating system development.
• Background in embedded systems, firmware, SoC platforms, or hardware/software co-design.
• Hands-on experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems, GitHub, and profilers.
• Knowledge of vulnerability assessment, risk analysis, security audits, penetration testing, and threat modeling.
• Familiarity with security compliance expectations and product security governance.
• Ability to evaluate security trade-offs across performance, usability, scalability, and implementation complexity.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Motivating leader with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence across teams.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
