THE ROLE:

AMD Serdes Technology Group develops high-performance electrical and optical transceivers in advanced CMOS PDKs. We are seeking an expert in analog/mixed-signal circuit design and architecture.

 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advanced ultra-high-speed electrical and/or optical PHY architect.  She/He needs to be a self-starter who collaborates well with various functional teams and customers to successfully drive projects to completion.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To lead transceiver micro-architecture definition, modeling, simulation, implementation, and verification: Tx DSP and Rx DSP, CDR, adaptation and calibration loops
  • Mentoring junior engineers in implementation tasks to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and milestones
  • Conduct peer reviews of design and verification results

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Architecture lead role for 100 GBPS or higher transceiver
  • Proven silicon success 100GBPS or higher transceiver
  • Model and spec analog circuit impairments and fixed-point micro-architecture for optimal PPA
  • Top-level and block-level electrical/optical link budgeting and modeling
  • To work with pre-tapeout verification and post-silicon validation teams to bring up silicon and analyze volume productization data

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Ph.D in electrical engineering or related fields of industrial experience or M.S. plus relevant industrial experience in optical and/or electrical transceiver design
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills are required.
