THE ROLE:
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Software Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's products, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Client Graphic Software QA is a specialized group focused on driving graphic and product quality for client products. Our team is looking for an experienced software test engineer leading SW QA activities and AI tools adoption in validation workflow, a highly driven individual who does not compromise on delivering quality driver under aggressive timeline.
THE PERSON:
As a Software Systems Design Engineer, you will deliver our next generation of products in the computer graphics industry – 3D Gaming, Display Technologies, Compute, Virtual Reality, etc. In this high visibility position, your systems engineering expertise will be necessary to define products, develop solutions, assess root causes, and produce solution resolutions. As a senior member of the team, taking initiative in mentoring to achieve the team's goal of on time delivery is expected.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a passion for new technology and a results-driven mindset.
You are a self-starter who is able to achieve successful outcomes in a non-hierarchical environment. Detailed oriented, you have the ability to multitask through planning/organizing. You have excellent communication and presentation skills and a passion to push the limits of software on innovative platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate and lead the integration of AI tools into the validation workflow to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop comprehensive roadmaps tailored for client SQA to facilitate the seamless adoption and implementation of these AI-driven solutions, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Engage comfortably with senior executives, addressing the needs and requirements with external teams
- Develop and Execute both Automated and Manual Test Plans/Test Case with various test strategies consisting of Functional testing, Negative testing, customer/end user testing, Performance, Reliability, and Usability.
- Implement new technologies and develop new tools to support testing autonomously.
- Work very closely with dev teams and Project Engineers to drive defects to closures.
- Identify Matrices and Measurements for various aspects of the software QA development cycle.
- Evaluate and review existing processes and continuously strive to optimize the workflow.
- Keen eye for SW quality, experienced in QA domain, able to audit, review, improve existing, and develop test strategies for new products.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in Software Program/Release Management, particularly with AI/ML software products.
- Technical knowledge in AI software frameworks is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of, or interest in GPU (PC Graphics, AI) and NPU, on-line and off-line multimedia content streaming/playback, file transcoding, 3D graphics concepts, DirectX and/or OpenGL, 3D/VR gaming, and game engine technologies, AI/ML technologies.
- Should have proven experience in software test techniques and methodologies.
- Experience in driving innovation; Previous scripting/automation programming experience would be a big asset.
- Experience with software validation process and debugging tools is a plus.
- Should possess good problem-solving, critical thinking, time management, and prioritization skills.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's / Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent.
