THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a Senior Product Development Engineer to work on performance evaluation on our Adaptive Soc and FPGA products. You will work closely with designers to plan, develop, and execute various test to make sure silicon performance and features are meeting design target in datasheet specification. You will be implementing test solutions using FPGA logic to apply characterization patterns and workaround to resolve any silicon issue.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop Hard IP system level test around high-speed protocol, such as PCIE, Display Port, Ethernet and USB for system performance measurement.
• Development of RTL test designs, driver to validate IPs
• Takes responsibility for isolating the issue to a specific area such as test gap, SW bug, silicon bug, or process deviation.
• Implement testing across process, voltage, and temperature, as well as volume system testing. To analyze test results to discover trends and outliers
• Diagnose and debug the pattern failures on bench to root cause the problem
• Work closely with cross functional team, such as Design, Application, Product Verification and etc to investigate and find solutions to various issues.
• Working on the cutting-edge AMD Adaptive Compute Platform (ACAP) and devices Generates performance characterization plan with IC designers
• Analyze characterization results and create characterization report
• Apply statistical analysis skills and generate trends for the analysis of device feature performance over process windows.
• Create and improve automation script for data analysis and test automation

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 5-8 years' experience in pattern development or analysis on high-speed protocol or transceiver system.
• Extensive knowledge with high-speed protocol system (PCIE, Display Port, Ethernet or USB) is a must.
• Good experience in high-speed protocol system design and understanding their working principle/relationship is a must.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Phyton, TCL and C is a must.
• Familiar with Linux driver and firmware development with x86 or ARM environment is highly preferable.
• Familiar and be able to work under Linux environment is highly preferable.
• Digital logic design knowledge in Verilog is highly preferable.
• Experience in Gate Level Simulation is highly preferable.
• Good understanding of NPI Process, ATE/bench testing and debug isolation methodology is preferable.
• Basic understanding of FPGA. Knowledge of Vivado Software is a plus.
• Self-motivated and a strong team-player
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Passion in learning new tools and technologies

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor/Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering
