ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a recently qualified Financial Accountant with 0-2 years post-qualification experience to join our EMEA Finance team. This role will be based in AMD's EMEA Headquarters in Dublin, acting primarily as Entity Accountant for selected EMEA legal entities. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: ENTITY ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL REPORTING
- Own the month-end close process for assigned EMEA entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in SAP S4/HANA.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality monthly, quarterly, and year-end management accounts.
- Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and any remedial actions are followed up promptly.
- Preparation of annual financial statements, including US GAAP to Local GAAP reconciliations and year-on-year statutory vs. SAP bridging analysis.
- Interpret and communicate accounting principles and GAAP differences effectively.
Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks and SOX requirements.
COMPLIANCE & STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS
- Maintain a robust compliance framework to ensure full adherence to local statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit statutory financial statements, statistical filings (e.g., CSO returns), and regulatory reports.
- Liaise with third-party accountants and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate local filings.
- Support the preparation of accurate quarterly and annual corporate tax computations in collaboration with the tax department.
- Support cross-functional initiatives and provide financial insights to stakeholders across EMEA and global teams.
- Develop, foster, and manage strong working relationships with external advisors, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Leverage tools such as SAP S4/HANA, Blackline, Excel, Power BI, and AI-powered solutions to drive automation, data insights, and reporting enhancements.
- Recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- 0-2 years' post-qualification experience in a multinational or audit environment (Big 4 or international public accounting firm trained).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and EMEA statutory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to see the bigger picture
- Ability to work and adapt in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
- Flexibility to meet reporting deadlines and deal with priority requests
- Experience with SAP S4/HANA and Blackline preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and familiarity with AI tools for financial analysis and automation.
- Second European language is preferable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
