The Role
AMD's Corporate Development & Data Center Strategy organization is seeking an experienced data center + energy sourcing professional to lead due diligence and negotiation efforts with data center providers, neoclouds, CSPs, utility and gas generation companies and local jurisdictions to accelerate the development and deployment of AMD's AI growth strategy. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, growth, financial structuring, and external collaboration, shaping how AMD scales and expands its data center, cloud, AI, and enterprise ecosystems.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, results-driven professional with exceptional data center and energy due diligence and financial modeling skills. They are solution-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, possess strong communication and collaboration abilities, and stay ahead of industry trends and technology. Proven ability to support senior executives on strategic, high-visibility, and time-sensitive priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Significant experience leading complex data centers, energy, power, site selection, permitting, real estate, procurement, development, and commercial sourcing initiatives.
- Strong understanding of data center markets, gas and grid energy markets, data center operators, site selection, lease structures, infrastructure delivery, and mission-critical environments.
- Excellent ability to diligence power availability, interconnection queue position, substation proximity, and deliverability.
- Experience working directly with executive leadership, Chiefs of Staff, business operations teams, or strategic program offices.
- 5-10+ years of experience in data center site selection, energy markets, infrastructure development, commercial real estate, or related fields.
- Experience with energy procurement strategies (gas + grid) and power purchase agreement structures as applied to data center site selection
- Familiarity with data center design standards, critical infrastructure requirements, and hyperscale construction processes that inform site suitability assessments
- Conduct market scans, lead qualification, and preliminary assessments (power availability, site readiness, economics) during Prospecting and early Due Diligence.
- Maintain the opportunity tracker/dashboard, update metrics (e.g., aging, conversion rates, No-Go dispositions), and generate weekly/phase reports.
- Prepare supporting materials for gates (ROFR docs, Go/No-Go packages, Selection Criteria slides, site readiness filters).
- Research off-takers, landlords/neoclouds, power timelines, and competitive landscapes; compile benchmarking data.
- Assist with financial data gathering, advanced modeling support, and risk/opportunity summaries.
- Track Readiness-phase progress (landlord updates, power-on forecasts) and organize data rooms/presentations.
- Support ad-hoc analysis and deck creation for exec briefings.
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed (25%+) to maintain partner relationships and manage project progress
Preferred Experience
- Data Center Acquisition, Energy Sourcing (gas + grid), Strategy, corporate development, investment banking,
- Excellent analytical skills (Excel, Power BI/Tableau); ability to synthesize data into clear insights and visuals.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and presentation skills (PowerPoint mastery).
- Familiarity with hyperscale ecosystem, power markets, or GPU/AI supply chain preferred.
Academic Credentials:
- Bachelor's degree required; recent MBA, JD or top-tier undergrad / graduate experience highly valued.
