THE ROLE:

AMD Client platform development team is part of client platform engineering and be responsible to design the customer reference, silicon BU and validation platforms for all AMD Client products. You will be working with the global function teams on physical design implementation flows and driving both the dependencies and deliverables to hit the silicon milestones.

THE PERSON:

Has extensive experience on laptop or PC product design and delivery, strong knowledge with electrical (both digital and analog) motherboard design. Has good communication skills and be able to work both independently and in a team. Leading the technical and non-technical discussion, working with multiple function teams inside and outside of AMD to accomplish complex projects with aggressive schedule and challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Functional interface for both technical and non-technical questions, first level customer support.
• Responsible for platform design project schedule alignment, all the design dependences delivering, hardware build planning and monitoring, documentation release communications.
• Leading the platform design discussions with global teams, inside and outside of AMD, holding the conference calls with both different function team to resolve issues.
• Represent platform design team to join PCT's call.
• Dynamically prioritize the multiple projects, always put the effort on the most critical projects.
• Program management system maintaining, and continually process improvement.
• Driving all the platform deliverables on time delivery for all the customers.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Leadership – Demonstrated leadership of complex cross-functional teams in an R&D and/or customer support environment. Ensures optimal use of assigned resources. Effectively influences laterally/up/down to achieve goal.
• Exec Communications – Extensive experience with executive presentations and proposals including the ability to summarize complex situations and recommendations succinctly.
• Problem Solving and decision making - Able to collect the necessary data/input and provide the team the work direction.
• Drive for results mindset – Able to use above capability to get all the dependencies and deliver the reference platform on time with high quality.
• Proficient English and Mandarin (listening, writing, and speaking).
• Knowledge of x86 and/or ARM based product development flow, production reliability verification, validation, and compatibility testing.
• Strong knowledge for motherboard electric and analog design.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

A electrical technology related bachelor's degree above plus 10 years of x86/ARM based product working experience, including technical program manager or direct engineering experience.
